About
Amy Vaughan is a bookworm and daydreamer who writes and illustrates books for children. She lives in Minnesota with her husband, son, and two fluffy cats.
Inspiration
I draw inspiration from my young son who is smart, silly, and obsessed with figuring out how the world works. His interests spark ideas for the books I am writing. I used to be a teacher and strive to blend education and entertainment for lifelong learning.
“You can find magic, wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book.”
— Dr. Seuss
What’s Happening In the Studio
I’m finishing up the illustrations for Grandpa’s Toolbox, an ABC book of tools for early readers.
The next two books in the ABC series are being edited with illustrations starting in early 2024. Stay tuned for more updates on Grandma’s Garden and Ben’s Bug Collection.
I’ll be illustrating all three ABC books using paper collages.
Expected to see Lickety Split for sale in late 2024.
The immensely talented Erik Roadfeldt will be illustrating this story of a curious little boy who starts licking everything in sight.
